Lets start with a quote.

"I am gonna make it... through this year... if it kills me." (Stolen from a Mountain Goats song)

This very much sums up my attitude toward a lot of aspects of my life presently. I don't mean this in a negative "everything sucks" kind of manner. More accurately it reflects my renewed dedication to powering through things and enjoying myself... staying active and all that. It can be tiring but it certainly leaves me feeling better at the end of the day.

This weekend was great, and it's leading into what should be a great week.

Thursday: Kickball game... we TIED. (Best Result of the season), made some new friends.
Friday: Rather hungover but good day at work (out at 2:30), Ted Leo after that... rocking show.
Saturday: Kickball in the afternoon (pickup game). Also we got snow in DFW... spooky. Kim's birthday party was a highlight, with a bit too much boozing but seems to be a theme in the past few weekends.
Sunday: Relaxed for once, packing for my upcoming trip tomorrow: San Juan baby!

Oh, and Happy Easter all. Reminded me that I haven't been home in a long time and should aim to remedy this. Going to go down Friday afternoon and spend a weekend with the family (Houston).

Hello! It's been quite a while since last I've written anything in there. Am I dead? Hardly. Entertained? Mostly.

I guess the story of things lately is I was rather distracted with life, and mostly spending my time on livejournal relaxing and catching up on what everyone else has been up to. I think the Spring is starting with a quickness and I'm excited! Prime bike riding weather is upon me, the kickball season (winter) is almost up but spring/summer should start in may. Geez... the big 25 is around the bend which should do wonders for my insurance costs. So basically I'm unsure of what to post here.

In other news, I definitely am going to make more efforts to get out on the weekends.

Who's with me?

Examination of the past, reflections on the future.

So after a bit of contemplation I've decided to start thinking about this new year. A week behind perhaps but I guess that's my custom. For one reason or another this funk I've been in has caused me to do this.

Two things I know for certain:
1) It will be interesting.
2) I have a trip to plan.

Two things I would like this year:
1) Happyness, both for me than those I care for.
2) The ability to relax about aspects of my life I have little to no control over.

2006:
Two things that went right:
1) Work ended up being good, I had a great year.
2) Everyone seems to be in good health and good spirits, I watched 4 couples get married, my family is in good shape.

Two things that went wrong:
1) Self control: Had my first seizure in 5 years this summer.
2) Dating: Seems like I'm meeting the wrong ones, and I don't know what I'm doing.

Anyone else want to compare notes? For some reason this sounds like a good idea.

Wow.

Only a few more days (or so it seems) until I get to leave town for a good solid week and change. This just feels like something I've really needed to do, what with being busy all the time, get away from the hectic stuff.

Also I am going to try something different this year - actually make a new year's resolution. I've got no clue what it will be.

Anyone else already thinking about 2007?

...But no seriously, I hope everyone is having a good time with the holidays and such. It tends to put a downturn on my attitude for one reason or another, at least temporarily. Then I get to the part where I'm around friends and family and I realize what exactly is going on. So try to remember that this is a great time to reconnect with the fam and make sure that all of those close to you remember that you give a damn.

WTF

My neighbor scares the bejesus out of me. I get woken up at about 12:45am by someone slamming my welcome mat into my door and I look outside and its my neighbor. She is drunk as all hell and talking about all sort of weird shit and how she got hijacked and so on. After inviting her in and calling the office to help her get her apt opened so she can get back in, we walk back downstairs and starts acting like she's going to climb up the balcony from the ground floor up to hers. At this point the maintainence guy calls and tells me he's on his way out and asks for some details. I try to calm her down and get the details for the guy. Then after we sort it all out she goes to her door and opens it. WHAT THE FUCK? So I call the maintainence guy to tell him to not bother. Phew. This is what I get for helping... uf!

I swear this isn't a poll. Look!

So it's that time of year again... clean up the apartment and make a good attempt at being more vigilant when it comes to keeping this place presentable. Also this marks a month of celebration for various reasons.. damn near one every weekend if I work it out right. This is generally one of my favorite months of the year, since the weather is generally good, it's my birth month and when I was a kid all the kick ass toys came out around now. Makes me think that in the future I should look into taking time off around this month in the future, as it's in the middle of a Quarter @ work. I guess I almost get a week off next week due to a fun bout of training ahead.

Last day to sign Kinky's Petition is Thursday... woe is me, I do not think I have a valid voter's registration card but I will scour my place before I crash out tonight. If I can track one down, off to the final chance party I go! Anyone want to join me in my endavour? Hit me up and we'll ride.

Sidenote: I'm considering putting something together for NEXT weekend, perhaps Saturday. Anyone down for some drinking/foolishness? Gonna be 24!

Don't Stop... Believin...

B-boys and B-girls...

Happy Easter. I realize that since I'm more or less agnostic, religious wise... it doesn't possess much importance to me. It hit me as strange that I don't give it much thought when others go out of their way to wish me a Happy Easter and I just sort of return their sentiment. I hope that if you're observing the holiday, enjoy it. If not, just enjoy that it's another day and it's actually quite bright and cheerful looking... I mean it's worth something right?

It's been an eventful weekend, both in good ways and questionable ones. Went to Javier and Nancy's wedding, which was quite good. I have a good feeling about those two... it's always odd for me at weddings where I only know a handful of people at the wedding. There's something to be said about going to an event where the whole point is to celebrate happiness and mushy stuff. It's sort of contageous. I hope the rest of these I go to this spring/summer are as joyous.

Survey?

The Honest Survey!
Answer these questions honestly.

1. Honestly, what color is your underwear?
Grey.

2. Honestly, whats on your mind right now?
Very happy that my father is doing okay. Other than that? Tired.

3. Honestly, what are you doing right now?
Watching Teachers (BBC version) and cooling down.

4. Honestly, what did you do today?
Worked: Spoke with a few new clients but also gruelled on with some admin stuff.

5. Honestly, do you think you are attractive?
Yeah sure.

6. Honestly, have you done something bad today?
Aside from speeding, I don't think so.

8. Honestly, are you jealous of someone right now?
Yes.

9. Honestly, what makes you happy most of the time?
Music. Lots and lots of Music. Discussion about random topics with good friends at 10pm. Boobs.

10. Honestly, do you bite your nails?
Yes, but not nearly as much as I used to.

11. Honestly, what is your mood right now?
Sleepy.

12. Honestly, have you had an eating disorder?
Hell no.

13. Honestly, do you want to see someone this very minute?
My dad. I'm really looking forward to seeing him this weekend.

14. Honestly, do you have a deep dark secret?
A few perhaps, nothing really tragic though.

15. Honestly, do you hate someone right now?
I try not to.

16. Honestly, who/what do you want to hug right now?
My parents.

17. Honestly, are you loyal?
Mostly.

18. Honestly, are you in denial?
I'm denial about potentially being insane.

19. Honestly, would you rather be eating chocolate cake right now?
Not really, I'm pretty full from dinner.

20. Honestly, have you gone skinny dipping?
Nope.

21. Honestly, have you ever consumed alcohol?
Sure. Let's have a cold one!

22. Honestly, do you like someone?
No

23. Honestly, does anyone like you?
No

24. Honestly, is it going anywhere with them?
I imagine it wouldn't be going anywhere. Can only go up from here.

25. Honestly, do you smoke weed?
No.

26. Honestly, do you smoke cigarettes?
No.

27. Honestly, do you do other drugs?
Only prescription stuff that the doctor tells me to take.

28. Honestly, are you happy?
Sometimes. Ups and downs most weeks.

Secret to Living? Don't Die!

Been a long time now... but I have a question. Where have the artists like David Bowie gone? After having a really downer kind of day (not sure why but it just ended that way) I blasted Ziggy Stardust in my car and it was just kinda envalopeing (I can't spell!). I've not heard anything like it really... I'm really sort of confused that we don't see that sort of innovation and just kind of mind-blowingness that these sorts of recordings do to me. Sure we have the insane record companies now. But they were around then too! Also, we have more potential channels for bands to promote... Ideas?

You are very hard to please. You are highly selective of females, showing not even a marginal interest in marginal women. Of the 21 women I showed you, 3 to 6 were satisfactory,
meaning you have standards that are very tight. It is likely that in
your everyday life you're not much of a gawker or whistler, and -- I'm
going out on a limb here -- you don't sleep with hookers.

Anyway, there are three different reasons why you'd score
so low in my variable, "tolerance." The first: you could be
unreasonably picky. It could be you need to chill out and be more forgiving of natural flaws. Or, the second: you're not too picky, but you have unusual tastes,
which of course can be a blessing. (It's a blessing when you're the
only one who recognizes some girl's beauty!) The third: hey, maybe
you're with a friend, and you're hiding the truth about your
desperation.

Test results are categorized into 8 levels of pickiness, as the graph to the right shows. You are the #2, second most critical, test taker.

As an experiment, you might try the test late at night, under the influence of alcohol.

Kind, but also using friendship as a means to sex. Oh, that feels gooood. You are The Backrubber.

We call you "The Backrubber" because you straddle that fine line between coming on to someone and just treating her nicely. Backrubs are just one example; you'd meet for coffee, or talk about books/movies, or even argue a little bit, all the while mostly preferring to screw.

  Your exact opposite:
The Vapor Trail

Random Brutal Love Master

Your indirect approach is not some evil trickery, but rather a result of your open mind. You'd enjoy either love or sex, but the latter definitely doesn't require the former. While you are responsible and ambitious, you absolutely DON'T have uptight views on relationships. So ultimately, you just enjoy a woman, and let things take their course. If she wants you, great. If not, that's fine too.

Though you're not thinking too much about Love at this point in your life, odds are, when the time comes, you'll be very happy settling down. Your ideal mate is gentle and horny, just like you.

ALWAYS AVOID: The Peach

CONSIDER: The Playstation

Link: The 32-Type Dating Test by OkCupid - Free Online Dating.
My profile name: letgonowplease</td></tr></table>

Holy Crap

So... looks like my hometown (Houston) may be in some serious shit. I'm watching the news on this all day for the past few days. I can't really understand what is about to happen. One thing I do know however is that my hometown is going to be changed for sure. My family down there for the most part is getting the hell out of dodge thankfully. My folks are taking themselves, my sister, uncle/aunt, cousin/wife/kids, and of course... the dogs. More to come later...
